Pelleve Wrinkle Reduction Q & A

Why do creases, wrinkles, and fine lines develop in the face?

As a person ages, their body produces less natural collagen. This causes the skin to lose volume and firmness, and the result is unattractive creases, wrinkles, and lines.

What’s Pellevé?

Pellevé is a non-invasive radiofrequency treatment that reduces the appearance of facial lines and wrinkles far superior to application of any topical products. The Pellevé system delivers deep heat to the subcutaneous and dermal skin layers. The heat encourages the skin to start healing damaged tissue, and it also makes the body grow new collagen. Pellevé can treat fine lines and wrinkles, smooth out skin texture, and enhance skin firmness.

How many Pellevé treatments are needed?

Most people get positive results from a single Pellevé treatment, but for the very best collagen results, around 3 treatment sessions may be needed. When individuals have multiple treatments, the sessions are usually scheduled around a month apart. Once the desired results have been achieved, clients generally need 1-2 maintenance sessions each year.

How does Pellevé treatment work?

The patient relaxes while a gel is spread over the treatment area. The GlideSafe® handheld treatment device then sends radiofrequency energy through the outer layer of skin and into the deeper dermis. As the dermal layer is heated, clients may feel a sensation of warmth, similar to a hot stone massage. It isn't painful, and in fact most people say it's deeply relaxing. At about 1-3 days post-treatment, clients usually notice a post-treatment glow. At around 4-15 days after Pellevé treatment, the collagen regrowth starts. Around the 15-day mark, the body is actively creating new collagen. The skin continues to improve for several months after treatment. To keep up consistent collagen growth, most people opt for a total of 3 treatment sessions.

How long do treatment sessions take?

Treatments take anywhere from 30-60 minutes. It's possible to treat the whole face in about 60 minutes.

Is there any downtime with Pellevé?

Pellevé treatment requires no downtime at all. Individuals can go back to work right away if they wish. Some people even plan the treatment during their lunch break.
